I'm from up north, spoiled when it comes to hot weather.
Last week packed up a few foods to bring to an overnight without refrigeration.
We usually buy a bag of ice, but the weather was unusually hot.
I'd packed instant coffee in an old vitamin bottle, and it melted, crusted together.
I packed a mix of baking soda and vit C powder for carbonated C (covid protection)... and it congealed.
Gel vitamins stuck together.
All the things I assumed didn't need refrigeration, were destroyed.
And then I came home to find the refrigerator door ajar, and the heat of the appliance light had "cooked" some of the food. Melted cucumber, smelly oily cheese, curdled hot milk, I don't need to go on.
Do any of you equator folk have tips for avoiding heat damage?
