I don't know if I or anyone else has posted this but on the box of new lids there is a little post saying that the lids will keep food sealed for 18 months, this is something new in the past yr or two, the old lids never mentioned a date. I don't know if the company is using inferior material or if it's scare tactic just so people will replace lids more often and the Co. can make more money. I haven't had time to test just how long a lid will last lately.
