As we get into Fall and eventually in to the winter months, I'd like to know how I can best prepare for winter blackouts. I already have a 20-Amp inverter to power the essentials, and we have already lost power once this month.

I'm looking into backup solutions, such as solar generators, but even those are a bit out of my price range as of right now. I'm wondering if anyone has solid advice/links on where I can go to bolster my winter power preps?
